Birthday saga part 1;I almost always have the hardest time coming up with something for Kevin's birthday. I might add that if you know Kevin he absolutely loathes birthday parties for himself, especially surprise ones. Every year he plays detective and tries to ruin his birthday presents. This year I got him good. I planned for us to stay at a water park hotel out in Idaho. I had to come up with some excuse to drive there though. I tried asking him if we could meet some friends for dinner, but he said no deal. As a last ditch effort before busting out the blind fold, I called the girls at his work and had them make up a phony excuse to come out to the office in Idaho. Kevin automatically got suspicious. He called me, furious and told me I better come clean, that the office called and he knew I was throwing a surprise party ( which made him soooo angry, because I know he hates birthday parties). I have never seen Kevin so angry and so worked up before. I laughed so hard, but never said anything. If he had jump to a wrong conclusion and gotten so worked up, thats his own fault. Half way there, I asked him if he would like to know the surprise. He rolled his eyes and said , "Fine". When I finally broke the news he was so relieved and happy. We had an awesome time with the kids at the water park. Some of our friends got the room next to us and we were even able to play some games that night.

Great job Heidi. Kevin & Randy can be birthday grinches together. Did you like the hotel water park? We might want to stay there sometimes.
Kevin IS a birthday grinch. Once when we were at Ricks I threw a huge surprise party for him. He was at the library studying and everyone was at my apartment waiting for him. I called him and made something up about why he needed to get home quick (we lived in the same complex. He must have been suspicious because he took over 2 HOURS to get home and by then a bunch of people had to leave. We ended up taking picture with balloons that said "Where's Kevin?" Sooo lame. Anyway, good job Heidi! Sounds super fun, and I'm glad he got over his rage.
I'm with you Kevin... but only about the surprise party part. I love birthdays. Not so fond of the numbers lately, but still love birthdays.
