Neglect O' Lantern

Ashton's preschool went on a field trip to a pumpkin farm a few weeks ago. He picked out a perfect pumpkin to carve for halloween. We never got around to doing it and then we ended up leaving for Montana. The pumpkin has been sitting in Ashton's room ever since. Tonight for family home evening we finally carved it. We traced their hands and made turkeys out of them. They were mostly interested in the pumpkin "guts". Chloe took a piece of carved pumpkin and said it tasted good. I told her to go ahead and take a bite, she did. She made yum sounds for a little bit and then realized that it was gross. She spit it all over the table which I got to clean up.

I love the turkey hand idea. We still have an uncarved pumpkin. Cute picture! Ashton looks so proud and Chloe looks like she ate nasty pumpkin guts. :)

We had an uncarved pumpkin after Halloween also, and we also went with a turkey...look out Parent of the Year Award.

The turkey hand idea is pretty creative. Beware: our pumpkins began to rot quickly.

I love that Chloe thought she liked the raw pumpkin for awhile. At least she didn't spit it in the floor vent like another child I know.
